Dear friends,

BASE 35 has been successfully completed. Launch 15:06 UTC from DePauw University. Burst altitude: 86,000 feet Landing at Heading of 103 degrees and range of 70 miles.

Landing was interesting. Parachute caught in top of 100 foot tall tree with payloads hanging vertically from several horizontal branches. The lowest pod was about 60 feet above ground level. Four attempt with the EZ Hang successfully sent 1/2 oz. lead weight between the three payload strings connecting the lowest (HALO2) and second lowest (our light sensors and cameras) pods. We had a brief delay after the second unsuccessful attempt when the fishing line broke and there was not enough line available for another attempt. This shortfall was corrected by a trip to Greensburg for more line and sinkers. The EZ hang cord broke through the payload cords after pulling the payloads down to about 35 feet off the ground. All payloads except the HALO 2 were recovered with the Wonder Pole with the homemade hook. Another snare by the Wonder Pole brought down the HALO 2 pod.
