Indeed, how well did the stabilizers work? We had a terrible time with our camera bouncing around on our last flight. Something like this looks like it could alleviate some of that. Do you know if it helped with spin at all?

Yes, we use Canon A570 cameras and the CHDK program (set to take photos every 30 secs (loading time is not accounted for so pictures are actually taken at longer intervals)). It's been a very reliable way to document flights.
